Mr. Sansone is a 1973 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in National Security and Public Administration. Following graduation, he entered active duty with the 4th Infantry Division, starting out as a logistics expert with emphasis in petroleum and potable water operations, and completed active duty 7 years later as a contracting officer for DOD before entering the private sector.

 He has been recognized as a risk management expert (domestically and internationally) in the fields of identification, assessment and modification of risk, with specific focus and strength in the insurance aspects of the energy and construction industries. He has had the good fortune to work on both the client and provider side of industry with a notable group of companies, where he created an exceptional track record of success in starting up, building, leading, and optimizing loss prevention and technical support teams.

 His professional affiliations have been with Air Products and Chemicals Inc, The Adolph Coors Company, United Engineers and Constructors, Inc, The American Ref-Fuel Company, Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Co. and XL Insurance. While in these firms, he led their insurance, engineering, energy and construction endeavors in positions such as: VP Global Property Engineering; VP of Capital and Plant Procurement; Director of Engineering and Construction Contracting; and VP of Energy Engineering.

 In 2008, he founded the Power Gen and Construction Practice, LLC to address the imperative for thorough and proper risk assessment in the power generation and construction industries. His current client base includes insurance companies, energy firms, energy consulting firms, OEM’s, brokers, construction firms and the United States government (DOE). His contributions include providing expertise  on the potential challenge, risk and insurance liability aspects of the emerging carbon capture and carbon sequestration industry, along with the possible approaches to address these from a risk transfer perspective.

 With over 30 years of line management experience, he has always focused on the imperative for leading by example, taking care of his people, creating an environment of honesty and integrity and earning the trust and confidence of clients and stakeholders by making real contributions and adding value to their endeavors.

 In addition to running his current firm, he has served as President of the Board of Directors for two 501 c 3 non profit entities engaged respectively in the awarding of academic scholarships for less-advantaged children; and providing of opportunity for children to experience and participate in live musical theater.

 He has had numerous articles published on the topic of risk, has co-authored a forthcoming book on global power plant competition; is a contributing author to the “Sustainability Management Handbook”; and has provided keynote and other presentations (domestically and internationally) at energy and insurance industry symposiums.
